About me
I've been a professional graphic designer since 2009. I began my career working freelance for local agencies, creating catalogue layouts, adverts and editing photos. This is also the time I worked freelance for the now-closed local group Archant, where I developed my editorial design skills working on their range of magazines.
I took an in-house position in 2012 with Toffee Publications as Head Designer of their 'Maximum Carp' fishing title and supporting the design of their main 'CARPology' magazine. The company ceased publishing Maximum Carp in 2014 and I returned to freelance work, continuing to create layouts for CARPology.
Over the next few years I worked for a number of local businesses and agencies in both publishing and brand design. In 2018 I joined Greater Anglia as their in-house designer. I created their current 'GA Focus' magazine design and spent the next few years developing their internal brand to better align with their established company brand.
In 2025 I returned to freelance work, continuing to design GA Focus magazine for Greater Anglia.
My approach with any project is to begin with a thorough briefing. This is a conversation to establish all the key information about the business, competition, audience and desired outcome. Collectively figuring out what's going to work and what won't at the start of the process always leads to a stronger outcome as the design can be guided by this information, avoiding guesswork.
If you have a design project I can help with I'd love to hear from you.
